Hayward is home to this unique Hall of Fame, a non-profit museum and education organization dedicated to the conservation and sport of fishing throughout the world. Come experience the history of fishing and angling achievements. The landmark "Shrine to Anglers" is a structure one-half city block long, four and one-half stories tall and hand-sculpted into the likeness of a leaping Musky fish. Step inside to tour a museum and stand in its gaping open jaw, which serves as an observation platform. The rest of the museum complex houses fishing artifacts, including an inventory of over 5,000 dated lures, hundreds of antique rods, reels & angling accessories, over 300 antique and classic outboard motors, and more than 400 mounts of nearly 200 different species of fish. The museum also houses a video theater which shows movie shorts depicting the educational and instructional aspects of fishing and related subjects.
